Go Big or Go Home
Every game, sport, or competition has a winner and a loser there's no way around it. A contest I have won was Districts for softball. Districts is pretty big, it is the tournament right before State which is where you play teams from all over Ohio. Softballs a game of team work making every position key in winning a game. When playing on a team as team members there should be a bond formed. Working as one and using every ones skill to the teams advantage. My team was this way, we used what we had to our advantage defeating every team we played. Of course we lost, everyone does at one time, but we learned from our lost showing us were we needed improvement. Each player were strong as individuals playing with different skill levels, but when we played together and combined our skills we became unstoppable. The last game we won marking us District champs was a tough one. We have faced the team in the past shutting them out fifteen nothing in the fifth inning. I had scored the winning score and batted everyone in that game, but we met the team once more. They were looking for revenge but we were prepared. The coach was smart, most of the time, by having me DH (designated hitter) for Glory while she only played the field. We won this game becoming District champs and sending us to State. This was a big accomplishment for us since the year before we could not win any games. So every sport has a loser and a winner and this time my team came out on top.

Jims misadventure
Jim was driving with his friends to Dave and Busters in Canada, but they encountered a major problem. They found out they were going south instead of north, and got lost in the desert. Where they came across Bass nine. They discovered the world's secrets; how they raise and sell albinos as pets, and horses are not really, but unicorns in disguise. Some of Jim's friends accidentally fell, and got shot into space never to return again. Another appeared to be bitten by a zombie. They all get incredibly scared and start running around like chickens with there heads cut off. Jim finally came to his senses and found a ray gun to shoot his zombie friend. After finishing off his friend they try to find the exit. Which they have lost in the midst of freaking out over the zombie. Jim pulls out his iPhone to mapquest there way out. But unfortunately he has no service and there seems to be no one else in the building. In the end this green mist sprays them all and they pass out. Two hours latter they awake once more to find they are sitting in there car in Canada. They are very much confused but decide to go inside Dave and Busters, and forget what they just experienced.

Unusual Weekend?
Unusual, something not commonly done or seen. This weekend my unusual act occurred inside my window. I was seeking out WiFi in my neighborhood since I do not own any of my own. Since I do not have WiFi in my house it Is hard for me to download books on my kindle unless I am at school or the library. At this time I could not wait for Monday to come around because I was craving a new book to read. So there I was sitting in my window searching for WiFi. It took about twenty minutes for me to stay connected and successfully download the book I was looking for. In those twenty minutes I loss connection about three times causing me to start over. By once it downloaded I ended up finishing the story in two or so hours. So this was my unusual adventure this weekend.

We Need Change And We Need It Now!
If I could change one thing, I would change how the government is ran. There are many corrupt politicians, we are in debt to many countries, and there are many other flaws that can make our country seem weak. The government cannot agree on many problems needing immediate fixes. One of these problems is our extreme debt, yet we continue to take more and give out money we do not have to other countries. Not only this, but we take them from governmental systems (aka communism) that we are the polar opposite of. These countries are doing better than us economically, sending the message that they are even doing better politically. While it is important to help out other countries and make allies it is also important to put our needs before others. Although this sounds selfish it is what need to be done to build our country back to the powerful country we use to be. We need to strike fear back into other countries letting them know we are not a push over that we will stand our ground. Our government wants us to run when we barely know how to crawl. Putting us all in danger and open for attack. I hope the government wakes up and starts doing what we elected them to do, because if not I do not think we will be able to avoid a war on our home front.

Anywhere-Everywhere
If I could go anywhere I have never been before I would go to Vietnam. Not many people know and very few can tell I am part Vietnamese. I would like to learn my heritage. How and what they do to celebrate the different holidays. There are also certain illnesses that Asians are more pron to catching. Since my mother never knew her biological father we do not know much about his side of the family. I would like to go there even just for the summer or a school semester to trace my grandfathers history. To learn all I can learn about the culture and the many legends they are known for. I am also interested in learning their language for its very different from English. The way they live is very different from the way we do also. Were we buy groceries on a average of every two weeks they shop every day. They do not have refrigerates and freezers as we do they have whats known as ice boxes. There are many differences between our ways of living and culture. Asians are all about honor they do not believe in giving up. When one falls in battle they feel remorse for there lost soldiers but they think of it as karma. When ever they feel as if they have bought shame on their selfs and family they will commit an honorable suicide. An honorable suicide is when they kneel on their knees and stab their self and a comrade cuts their heads off to end suffering. So it would be a honor and privilege to be able to spend some time in Vietnam.

Music=Life
Music is important in my life because music is a way of expressing individuality. When I hear different lyrics I try to decipher the underlying meaning the song writer is trying to convey. There are many songs of grief and happiness, even things that are seen as illegal. But all good songs have meaning and feelings people can relate to. With out music life would be bland and very depressing. Music is a way of expression. People often sing or write songs to voice things they could not easily say or express. Songs often possess different meanings to the different listeners. With out music people who are shy or have low self-esteem would be very closed off and could show signs of depression. They would feel as if they would be judged by anything they say or do. Music is the way of life and it is always involving to new types from jazz to rap and even country. It helps people when there down and turn into a million dollar hit. Music is irreplaceable.

How Does Your World Spin?
People say that money makes the world go round. But, if someone asked me what I would do if money did not make the world spin I would be indecisive. On one hand, I would love to travel the world, seeing anything and everything possible. Experience new things, and meet new people. I could learn about different cultures and languages. How many ways can you say hello? "Hi, Holla, Aloha, Guten tag, Xin chào, Dia dhuit". With all the knowledge I would obtain from traveling I could spread it. I could become a tour guide and help people learn the history of the land. While I would love to travel I do not think I could give up playing sports. Softball is way more then just a sport to me. It has become a part of my life, like getting up every morning for school. I look forward to the softball season to be able to learn new skills. I crave the power and intensity I feel when I am on the field. When I stand in the batter's box I feel as if I could do anything. The ball is pitched, as it comes towards me I first breath, second get ready, third swing with everything I got. The ball soars threw the air reaching new heights. The adrenalin is amazing and worth while nothing can compare. A way I could impact society by playing softball is by sponsoring a younger kid's league and contribute to build new fields. I could help mentor younger kids in the game of softball, how it takes passion and dedication to go far. So if money did not matter I am not sure which path I would choose, but either path will be worth the time and experience.

My Identity
Favorite a person, place, or activity that is preferred to all or especially well liked. For me my favorite activity is sports specifically softball. I love the game so much I could be know as a radical or extreme player. I love the feeling of the crowd cheering me and my team on, and when I slide and dirt kicks up as I wait for the umpire to yell "SAFE". Th power I feel when my bat hits the ball is adrenaline rushing. As I run the bases I feel the wind flying past me. The rush of the fast moving game all relying on team work. It is a thrill to be on the field not knowing if the team will be good enough, or if it will be an easy win. It takes heart and passion to play the game. As players we must understand the game and be be able to take a lost and still smile afterwards. Winning is fun, existing even, but when I lose I try to not look at the bad, but how I can do better the next time. When I play, I play with all I got, and I do nit quit easily. Softball is my sport, something I never want to give up.

My Number One Regret
In life we are told to live with no regrets. To live life to the fullest and never look back. For some people their past haunts them. And every minute of everyday that is all they can think of, what they could have done. We all at one time live on the woulda, coulda, shoulda island where all regrets live to haunt us. For me if I could change one thing it would be for my mother to live. I would give anything to go back and hear her voice even if she is yelling at me. To see her smile, blood rushing threw her veins. To have spent more time with her good or bad. If she was still here it would change a lot. I would not be so quiet and would not feel so alone even when surrounded by others. It would also effect my brother. There would never have been longing or darkness in his eyes. My family would not even know the meaning. My mom was very well known and she changed many people for the batter. She was the sun in my eyes, the strongest person I know. She made me and just about anyone she talked to believe that they could do the impossible. She never gave up on anything no matter the challenge it held. My mom fought the hardest battle, that I have seen many lose. She had fought the battle of Cervical Cancer for years and at one point went into remission, but the world added an evil twist. She was diagnosed again and was put on a trial. Slowly her body gave up and she was unable to fight it off. If I could bring her back pain free I would with out a second thought. To see my brother happy and to feel whole again. To truly smile and laugh, because after a while pain consumes to the point where you give up. So my one regret is I never got that last goodbye. But I will continue to fight and help people as she did, and show everyone how amazing my my mother was by doing what is right.

My Little Brother
Everyone has someone or something they would risk everything for. For me it is my little brother. I know this sounds weird since siblings usually fight and get on each others nerves, but he is the most important person in my life. Now that sounds very exaggerated so let me explain. Life is tough it is like when someone goes to close there eyes and hope to pick a winner out of a hat. We either get it good or bad. I guess when my life was chosen there was only bad or false hope left. I lost a lot and gained very little but threw it all my little brother was a constant. Though he can get on my nerves and likes to call me little, I could never regret calling him my brother. When ever I need something he has always been there for me. Even to listen to me talk about nonsense. He is all of four foot five and filled from his head to his toes with love and care for others. He acts much like I do but he is more talkative and out going. I know with out a doubt if I ever needed him he will be at my side threw the think and thin, just as I would be there for him. If it ever came down to his life or my own I could honestly say with out a second thought I would choose his. So I guess that makes him my weakness. A honorable weakness he is. But he is my little brother and I will always protect him even if that means protecting him from the world its self.

Summer Full Of Sports
Summer is never long enough! We only get 76 days of homework free days. But when summer comes, I am always on the run. From softball practice to a game the next day. To even my brothers baseball practice, to his early morning games. I sleep in and lay around , but when it is time to play I am relaxed and focused. This year has been the best summer for sports in my opinion. I play in continuous softball leagues, from being a Lady Titan to a Lorain Royal. If people were to read the newspaper this summer they would see my name plastered along with my teams. My brother was a fighter himself, and he led his team well this past season. They were almost champs but fell into second place this year. They got trophies, took pictures and he had a blast regardless of falling short of first place. My season continued and we fought long and hard. We became district champs, putting us in the running for the State Championship. We practiced long hours and had tons of fun. After all the time I spent with my team, I grew semi close to them. We became State qualifiers ending our season 14-3, the best I've ever done with a team.

My Name And Me
My name is commonly uncommon.
It is tossed with letters.
Scrambled and changed.
It is lost and found.
And never unknown.
My name is Aliyah...
How to begin.
How to end.
A-a-l-i-y-a-h
A-l-i-y-a
Or even E-l-l-i-y-a-h
Who knows?
I am an ascender!
I rise through the air.
I fly to new places,
Just as the Hebrew intended.
But my name I do not choose.
Like singing
Something I do not desire
She flew and crashed
Something I do not desire
She died from greed
Something I do not desire
I prefer Leah
Something short, sweet, and simple
But simple I am not
Much like my name
We are both misused
The spelling is wrong
I can not spell
The pronouniation is wrong
I am not heard
But in the end
Aliyah is my name
It does not make me
It does not mark me
It only helps people get my attention
So my ears are wide open
And ready to listen
My name is Aliyah if you have forgotten
Unique and different like the person I am.
It is tossed with letters.
Scrambled and changed.
It is lost and found.
And never unknown.
My name is Aliyah...
How to begin.
How to end.
A-a-l-i-y-a-h
A-l-i-y-a
Or even E-l-l-i-y-a-h

My Basic Hard Rule To Follow
My golden rule is be responsible for our actions and do what needs to be done, but not always what we choose to do. A lot of people forget the basics, how responsibility plays a big role in life. With out responsibility there is no trust. sometimes we as people must put others needs before our own. To be responsible enough to be trusted to be able to hold someone else's life in our own hands. We should be able to choose needs over wants. When in doubt if the choice ever came down to finishing homework due the next day or going to see a friend, we as responsible young adults in the making should be able to make the right decision. This rule is important to me, because I feel when ever I make the right decision it shows how responsible and trust worthy I am. Do not forget the basics, those are what guides life. Everything we were taught in preschool or kindergarten is what counts now.
